The deceased customs official, Rishi Ranjan, was recently posted in the imports section of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) as Appraiser.  33-year-old Ranjan was earlier working with the customs at Kandla port in Gujarat, and was recently transferred to JNPT. He was said to be disturbed and tense ever since he was suspended. Ranjan had got married just four months ago in April this year. His wife and mother had gone to visit their relatives in Gujarat; so Ranjan was staying alone in his flat in Navi Mumbai at the time of his suicide. Police informed that a suicide note was recovered from his residence. The contents of the suicide note have not been revealed yet to the media. Further investigation is continuing.
