The IRS promtee officers have recently formed an Association in the name and style-- INDIAN REVENUE SERVICE(CUSTOMS &CENTRAL EXCISE) PROMOTEE OFFICERS’ ASSOCIATION. Basically this  is not a service Association but this is an welfare Association, because not only service officers but also retired officers are also members of this Association. This is an welfare Association like ST & SC welfare Association. The Constitution of All India Association of Central  Excise Gazetted Executive Officers is going to be amended in its ensuing Convention to be held at Daman during 01.11.14 & 02.11.14 to includes Gr-A Executive Officers as members of its Association. Hence promotee IRS officers can be members of both the Associations.
