 The Mangaluru regional unit of the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (#DGGI) has detected tax evasion cases of more than ₹ 75 crore in Central excise and service tax during 2017-18. The unit has recovered more than ₹50 crore of tax thus evaded.

 Jaipur DGCEI - From April 2018 to till date, Rs 330 crore worth of tax evasion was detected in 27 cases and Rs 9.98 crore was recovered by the department in 20 cases. Four persons were arrested and prosecution was launched by the zonal unit in two cases,.Investigation in 14 cases of central excise evasion of Rs 29.44 crore and 34 cases of service tax evasion of nearly Rs 750 crore had been pending with the department.

1846 gms of gold bar worth Rs. 58,14,900/- has been seized from a Smuggler coming from Bangkok by flight no. SG84 by the officers of Customs AIU Unit, NSCB INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT KOLKATA. It was concealed beneath the foot of the passenger.
