It is learnt that Government is seriously trying for passage of GST Bill in the current session of Parliament by giving priority over Land Acquisition (Amendment) Bill. The GST Bills passage requires a constitutional amendment, which means a two-thirds majority is required in Parliament. Subsequently minimum half of the State Assemblies will have to pass it well ahead of its roll out from April,2016 onwards. With limited availability of time, it is uncertain whether Bill GST will be rolled out as planned from April,2016 onwards.
